Version Numbering

Nada versions are numbered (#.0) with one zero, alone, next to the dot, (e.g. 1.0), meaning it's incomplete and not functional. Nevertheless, it exhibits intention and I'm interested in seeing comments.

Iota versions are numbered (#.00#) with two zeroes next to the dot, (e.g. 1.001), meaning it's incomplete but functional. Nevertheless, it's still useful and I'm interested in seeing comments.

Beta versions are numbered (#.0#) with one zero next to the dot (e.g. 1.01), meaning it may have problems. I'm very interested in seeing comments.

Zeta versions are numbered (#.#) with no zero next to the dot (e.g. 1.1), meaning it's ready for trusted use. If there are problems, please tell me.

Any point-number versions other than point-one (e.g. 2.2, 2.02, 2.002) represent changes that are compatible with files, formats and procedures of the previous version. Any point-one versions (e.g. 3.1, 3.01, 3.001) represent changes that are not compatible with files, formats and procedures of the previous version (e.g. 2.7, 2.07, 2.007), and will require some conversion and/or migration. Such requirement may be automated and/or documented.
